Through the use of a palm computer and special software developed by Hitachi, CablePrice (NZ) Ltd can download information stored in the ICX unit. A total of 27 palm computers are used by CablePrice branch field service teams nationwide for data downloading from the ICX units. Once downloaded onto the palms, the service technicians can transfer this information to a centralised server (the Machine Information Centre, MIC for short), where we can then generate reports that assist in the diagnosis of machine faults, help understand application and operator habits and record the machine's true daily utilisation.
Through the ICX and the MIC systems we are able to log and store:
The reports can produce easy to understand graphs that help the decision maker measure their operation and performance. They can also identify areas where refinements can be made to improve efficiency and productivity, and avoid late detection of problems, saving costly repairs and down time.
