Intercity / Coach chassis
From the wheels up, your chassis is a rolling foundation designed for years of reliable and effective operation.
It’s all about the interaction between the driver, the vehicle and the road. Torque, response and traction. A strong, smooth flow of power. It’s the careful balance of these properties that make a Scania stand out.
Our range of intercity/coach chassis provides you with a comprehensive choice of modules, features and options for tourist, express and multipurpose uses – from top-of-the-range luxury coaches, to multipurpose workhorses where operational flexibility is a must.
K-series chassis
With the flexibility of the Scania K-series, it’s possible to build a wide variety of coach types with varying floor heights and driver positions. And every solution is characterised by the same high level of comfort, reliability, safety and operating economy.
On the Scania K-series, the entire kerb side is free from components, which makes it possible to integrate a toilet in the middle or at the rear, a rear door, or additional luggage capacity. Thanks to the rear-mounted, longitudinally installed engine, the luggage compartment stretches all the way from the front to the rear axles and can be made both large and easily accessible.
The K-series is able to meet highly varied needs for passenger capacity, due to various axle configurations and the fact that this model can be ordered as either a single- or double-decker. Available with a broad range of 5- and 6-cylinder engines, combined with manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic gearboxes.
F-series chassis
With its front-mounted engine, the Scania F-series is ideal for tough conditions, where it can provide comfort as well as high passenger capacity.
When you need a coach for rugged use – with maximum dependability and minimum service requirements – the proven Scania F-series is a perfect choice. You get a robust solution that has been developed to handle challenging road conditions with generous clearance angles.
Available with 5-cylinder engines, equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, in 4x2 executions of several lengths.
