The GR801 is compact, rugged and uncomplicated. It has a simple H-pattern shift and slick operation, making it ideal for many applications where the easiest possible driving is an important operational requirement.

It makes a virtue out of simplicity; there are no crawler ratios, and its smooth, positive action means that constant gearshifting is never going to be hard work for the driver.

Ratios are widely spaced at the low end, helping the driver keep up with constantly varying speeds of busy urban traffic.
Reliability is also a key factor. A comprehensive lubrication and cooling system uses a pump to distribute oil to all critical points. This action is supplemented by splash and spray lubrication.

An external oil filter can be exchanged in seconds, and an internal mesh trap filter is easily removed and cleaned when an oil change is needed. No other maintenance is required.
