Construction trucks are expected to go just about anywhere. On any road or where there’s no road. Up and down steep gradients, along uneven winding tracks, across open land on barely marked routes. One day the ground can be soft and slippery, with trucks axle-deep in mud or sand. The next day, the terrain may be completely different: hard, rutted and unyielding.
To cover the extensive range of operating requirements associated with construction vehicles, Scania offers a comprehensive model range.
There are ten choices of power outputs (from 230 to 580 hp) and various gearboxes including an overdrive 12-speed for use with hub reduction axles. All powertrains have the option of Scania Opticruise, and all except those with the GR801 gearbox can have the Scania Retarder. Various high-torque PTO options exist for engines and gearboxes.
Vehicles with a conventional manual gearbox also have the option of a clutch monitoring system that will prolong service life and ensure smooth and precise operation all day long, day in, day out.
Axle configurations include all-wheel drive as well as single and tandem drive axles (single and hub reduction). Suspension options include air, parabolic and multileaf. And for extreme off-road loads and conditions, there are extra-heavy duty frames. Design capacity is up to 150 tonnes.
You’ll find two types of spacious R and P day cabs, plus a short P cab and a bonneted T cab. (Sleeper cabs may also be specified.)
Four fleet management systems are available, offering choices in the level of sophistication and functionality. All are compatible with leading proprietary brands of software, giving you flexibility to use systems you are already familiar with.
